The United Methodist Women
JWUMC’s UMW is an organized group which
is a unit of the great body of United Methodist Women. Their purpose is to
know God and experience freedom as whole person’s through Jesus Christ; to
develop creative, caring, supportive friendships; and to expand the concepts
of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
The members of JWUMC’s UMW are divided among circles which meet on
various days (see list that follows). Each circle chooses it’s own area of
study and / or emphasis for meetings. A general meeting of all members is help
on the third Tuesday of every month in the chapel. Circles share the
responsibility for the programs and for the light luncheon help in the Leisure
Ministries Room following the general meeting. The Mother/Daughter Banquet in
May and the December Christmas Dinner / Pledge Service are held at night and
are open to all women in the church
Our commitment to mission outreach can be seen through our work with
