John Wesley has ongoing disciple bible studies for youth and adults. The
purpose of Disciple is to develop strong Christian leadership through regular
in-depth study of scripture. As a result of this study, participants should
expect to be biblically nourished and better equipped to share their faith
with others. Some who complete the course will want to lead future Disciple
sessions or perhaps participate in additional studies. John Wesley
currently offers the Disciple I study as well as Disciple II through IV studies.
Disciple is based on the model of Jesus and the twelve with groups of
twelve being led by trained teachers. The time commitment for group members
includes at least 30 minutes independent daily study (except Sundays) and
attendance at all 34 weekly study sessions which last from 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
The study sessions are held from September to May.
Those wanting more
information on Disciple can refer to the handbook Becoming
Disciples Through Bible Study. To enroll in the next session of disciple,

Short term Bible studies are offered at various times throughout the year.
A 28 week study in spiritual formation-not a study for knowledge of the
Bible, but a study to bring YOU into closer relationship with God. You will
explore the depths of Scripture, learn to listen to God through it, and
allow your life to be shaped by the Word. You will experience new dimensions
of prayer, try fresh ways of opening up to God, and learn what it means to
practice the presence of God. You will reflect on Christ's call in your life
and discover anew the gifts that God is giving you to live out your personal
ministry. You and members of your group will grow together as a Christian
community and gain skills in learning how small groups in the church become
settings for spiritual guidance.
